We often see street lights, as their name suggests, installed along streets and other roadways, from urban roads to highways.
They usually have one thing in common.
They are mounted on a pole, with or without an outreach bracket.
But today, we’d like to share a less common approach.
For this narrow street and pedestrian pathway, instead of installing additional poles, the designer chose to mount our SL68 street luminaire directly onto the building walls with outreach brackets.
It may look like a compromise at first.
But in fact, it makes the best use of the available space, avoids the need for extra poles, preserves the openness of the street, and respects the overall character of the surroundings.
Public lighting is always about adapting to the place.
The number of luminaires we can choose from is finite, and the mounting options are limited too.
But with thoughtful design, we can always find the best combination to serve both the space and the community.
